Paid Internship
ERMI is an acronym that translates to End Range Motion Improvement. ERMI, Inc. is a leading US medical device company specializing in the treatment of outlier patients with severe motion loss by partnering with physicians, physical and occupational therapists, nurse case managers, and other healthcare professionals. Through its patented devices, the company researches, develops, manufactures, markets and bills as a provider of healthcare services to improve motion for patients in the US.
During my internship, I learned how to operate a CNC mill as well as a CNC lathe. I also learned how to create code tool paths in Solidworks CAD software.
Paid Internship
Pulseworks, LLC designs, installs and manages innovative and interactive motion attractions.
For my 10th grade required Personal Project, I reassembled a twenty-year old, three-ton roller coaster simulator. This required repairing and modifying components, adding new wiring and converting from single phase to 3 phase power as well as retrofitting the unit with a new motion controller. I also wrote code and resigned the graphic user interface to repurpose the unit to become a flight simulator.
I wanted a summer job so I contacted Pulseworks in Smyrna, GA to see if they would be interested in hiring me. I sent them the link to my motion simulator web site and the owner of the company asked to meet me because he couldn't believe that a 16 year old could actually do what I did. I met with a team of employees and the owner of Pulseworks several weeks later and they offered me a job right away.
My responsibilities were to assist in building control units and to design and test new and existing simulators. I also created and debugged new software.
Internship
